Nuclear Bomb For Sale by Physicist: Discount to Religious Organizations

Soon any large organization and multinational corporation will be able to develop WMD - there is a clear progression leading to this:

At first only the great superpower USA could come up with the idea to develop a nuclear bomb, and actually find a way to do it. Then when it became clear that it could be done, and what the science behind it was, ie atomic/nuclear physics rather than chemistry as is the case for conventional explosives, the large powers such as Russia, China, Britain and France were able to develop it.
Over time, more of the knowledge regarding nuclear bomb-making became known to the wider scientific community, and as a result second-tier powers with unusual scientific skill such as India and Israel were able to create the bomb. Then the specialized knowledge became even more accessible, and physicists and engineers across the world were able to sudy the required processes, and so third-tier powers such as Pakistan and North Korea, both of them poor underdeveloped nations, were able to develop a nuclear bomb. Even Libya was close recently.

The theoretical background information is well-known by any physics major who took a course in nuclear physics, and the specifics are available to nuclear physicists the world over. The technology is understood by nuclear engineers around the world, and the actual machinery/equipment required is becoming more and more easily available, especially by purchase from the lowest-tier nuclear-armed countries, which are poor and corrupt dictatorships.

It seems reasonable to conclude that this progression of ease of development will continue: the relevant knowledge and technology will become more and more readily available, the cost and difficulty of constructing a bomb will continue to decrease, and some years from now it will be possible for a large sophisticated organization, whether Hezbollah, or Hamas or Al Quaida, or Om Shrinyo or the Moonies or an international coalition of white supremacists and skinheads or the Mafia, to hire or train in-house experts, buy equipment and construct a bomb.

There is one consolation: I would have said that the next step after that would be for individuals to be able to assemble nuclear bombs, like the psycopaths who murder and eat bunches of people, or a unabomber type etc, but given that the bomb would first be possesed by the organizations named above, it is unlikely that we would be around long enough for such a stage to arrive.

We really need to think carefully how to prevent all this from happening.

The US is hated around the world not for what we do but for what we are portrayed as wanting to do

We therefore have to change not what we do or how we do it,
but rather the mechanisms which portray us in this way.

The anti-US propaganda mechanism in the Middle East - centered in the Moslem/Arab world and partially in Europe - is a combination of political leaders, religious leaders, media companies and personnel, and ‘intellectuals’. What they purvey is a collection of conspiracy theories. People in the Moslem/Arab Middle East have no other access to opinion. [What they hear has some credibility because the same views are promoted by a small minority of Americans, however no one will change the opinions of these Americans, nor should the government be involved in propaganda directed against US citizens.] In any country there will always be some who are conspiracy believers, but we have to change the percentages so that only the extremists in any country believe them.
The further one gets culturally/geographically from the US, the easier it is to believe these conspiracy theories: they are believed only by a few in the US, believed by half the Europeans and by virtually all Moslem Arabs in the Middle East:
· we're in Iraq to steal their oil (I hear this all the time from radical Democrats);
· we are in a crusade against Islam (some radical African American groups and some extreme US Moslem groups: they also believe the Mossad ‘did’ the world trade center);
· Abu Ghraib is a reflection of Bush's policy (seemingly hinted at by one of your callers today);
· it's all a plot by US industrial interests (Halliburton/Cheney etc: I hear this all the time);
· US policy constitutes terror as bad as Bin Laden's (Chomsky etc)
· We are constantly wantonly killing innocent Iraqi civilians; it is our policy to humiliate Iraq and other Moslem countries.
· Just as the US does in Iraq and Afghanistan, Israel wantonly kills innocent Palestinians by the thousands, just because they are Moslems/Arabs, as policy; Israel creates walls to starve the Palestinians, and roadblocks to humiliate them, these are not security measures they are deliberate acts of terror against Palestinians, just like the US actions in Iraq; and the US supports Israel in all this because they share the same goal: a Jewish-Christian crusade against Islam.

These are all untrue. But as long as people believe that our bombing of terrorists are actions against Islam, they will be motivated to volunteer as terrorists and we won’t be able to defeat terror (and eventual nuclear terror) just by killing terrorists. We of course have to continue our war against terrorists everywhere, but it has to be coupled with a policy of regime change in specific regions and information change everywhere abroad.

We have to find ways to get our message across. The US conducted regime change in France, Germany, Italy, Japan and elsewhere, and these populations are better off for it, glad it happened, it is not a mark against their pride that the US helped them in this way, nor was it in order to steal their resources or humiliate them.

And there is hope: for example: A free government in Afghanistan and Iraq will be a start in their own countries, when people there will begin to see the difference between what they were told previously, and the truth. They will see the sympathetic way in which the Arab media, intellectual and religious leaders portrayed the terrorists who enslaved Afghanistan, and how they portray those Iraqis dedicated to preventing Iraq from being a free country. And eventually satellite TV stations in Afghanistan and Iraq can begin to bring a more balanced perspective to the rest of the ‘greater middle east’. But in the meantime we need to concentrate resources on explaining US goals, and showing how our actions are indeed directed towards fulfilling these goals rather than the goals attributed to us.

The bottom line is: our policy is good, our actions are good, our intentions are good, but we can’t win as long as the collective enemy can manipulate their masses - who they control and want to continue to control - into thinking the US is fighting a war against THEM, the people and their beliefs.
re Israel.

There are American citizens living in NY City who are convinced that Jewish residents of their own city were behind the WTC attack. If people in NY can believe this about people they see every day, clearly there is little likelihood of convincing Muslims living far away that this is not true.
It is often stated that the reasonIsrael is hated is due to mistreatment of Palestinians.
However, the enmity of the Palestinians has absolutely nothing to do with humiliation and other mistreatment; it would certaibly be aggravated if there were indeed mistreatment, but even without it they would be fighting Israel just the same. Making this connection is similar to the ‘logic’ of Hamas statements after each ‘targeted elimination’/assasination of one of their terrorists to the effect that they will send more terrorists ‘in revenge’ as though otherwise they would not have done so. The eliminations are justified or unjustified actions taken to prevent such attacks, and not the reverse (the attacks are not responses to the eliminations); similarly the actions of the army and often of the settlers, whether justified or not, are not the cause of the enmity and terrorism, but are justified or unjustified responses to it. The hatred is not ‘because’ of it. And, their hatred is not because of actual events as depicted for example on Israeli media reports, but is based on the biased and twisted versions presented by Arab and Muslim media, and in some local US newspapers read by minorities.
I saw Syrian and Palestinian TV ‘documentaries’ on Israel, filled with vicious lies and even occasional false ‘clips’ of soldiers shooting Palestinian civilians en mass like SS troopers in occupied Europe. The Palestinians are constantly claiming that all the settlers and the army are shooting civilians deliberately and systematically, continuously. The Israelis are called Nazis. The image of the situation in the minds of the listeners is identical to what they are told of the Holocaust, and this is of course deliberate. No wonder they hate Israel, and Jews. They are not told the truth. Based on the lies they fabricate and the distorted images they provide of the conflict, the various media outlets, TV stations and local newspapers government and private are inciting minorities in the US, Palestinians in the territories, as well as Muslims worldwide, to hatred of Israel. Any normal caring person would hate Israel and want it destroyed, and perhaps support terror against it if they believed this propaganda.
If Palestinians, world Muslims and Arabs (and American Israel-haters,) read Ha'aretz every day, and trusted its reporting, would they think that the actual actions of the Israel is the root of the problem? Would they hate Israel? I believe not. They would realize that they could make peace with Israel easily. SInce what actually happens is far closer to what Ha'aretz reports than what the anti-Israel media reports, it is clear that the problem is not the issues but the hate-propaganda. The antisemites blend Jews and Israelis, create lies about both, and hate all, settlers and kibbutzniks alike, and fabricate lies about both. Would those who spread this vicious propaganda relent if Israel were to simply withdraw from the territories: would they then portray Israel as a peace-loving nation, to be accepted by Islamic/Arab peoples? Perhaps. But I do not believe so.

Bringing our troops home: Outsourcing our War to the R.I.Ch. countries: Russia, India, CHina:

We can bring our troops home quickly by outsourcing our war on terror to Russia, India, CHina (the "R.I.Ch. countries")

All three have large Muslim minorities, and all have a problem with Muslim extremists and separatists. They border each other and don't all necessarily employ Western-liberal methods of dealing with these problems. They are growing powers with dynamic economies who are interested in carving out spheres of influence and being major players on the world stage.
Together they have about half the world's population and cover most of Asia. All three are fighting terorrist Muslim organizations seeking to pull off territory to create a Muslim country.

If the USA would take a low profile internationally, bring back all our troops from Europe, Korea, Japan and the Middle East, and some other personnel, and export a little bit less of our MTV-Hollywood-Liberalism-human-rights values and culture to the Middle East where it threatens local cultures and religious and politcal leaderships, perhaps the Global Jihad would see us as a less relevant enemy and turn their energies to RICh.

We could use the time beneficially to concentrate on our own welfare, creating a country which truly provides equal opportunity to all, improving education and health care, and finding economically viable alternative sources of energy. And if in the meantime this would for some reason result in a drop in our standard of living, well we could retrench a bit without starving; and if this would inevitably reduce us to a non-Super-Power, then that may not be so bad, after all Switzerland is insular and the Swiss seem happy not to be a superpower, and the Scandinavians are not exactly a super power and yet they seem relatively satisfied with their country.

Palestinians and Israelis, Cats and Dogs

There’s an old saying: A dog sees how its master cares for it, taking care of all its needs, and thinks: "Wow, my master must be God!"
A cat sees how its master cares for it, taking care of all its needs, and thinks: "Wow, I must be God!"
The Jews see how much the world supports the Palestinians despite all their terrorism and thinks "Wow, the whole world hates us so much"
while Palestinians see all that support and think "Wow, what the Jews did to us must really be the greatest injustice in modern times!".

Jews Deserved the Holocaust

Why Europeans support the Palestinians rather than Israel

A typical radical Palestinian sentiment, re the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Israel:

"On the fiftieth anniversary of one of the greatest crimes of the age, committed against the gentle people and land of Palestine, we stand in reverence in the sight of the martyrs who had offered their lives as a libation to the continuity of the land and its immortal name. "

Given the horrible wars and catastrophes of the last hundred years, why would radical Palestinians proclaim that they are the victims of one of the greatest crimes of the age? Firstly, because they are masters at the art of inventing a lie and then believing in it passionately.

Why invent and believe in this particular lie? Obviously because they are attempting to erase sympathy for the Jews due to the Holocaust in various ways: by denying that it ever occurred, by claiming that Jews manipulate it to gain sympathy, by claiming that the Palestinian situation is the fault of others not of their own doing, and that their suffering is greater than that suffered by the Jews, and that this suffering is caused by the Jews.

The Europeans love this because it proclaims that what they did to the 6 million Jews, slaughtering them, helping thers to do it, taking over their homes and posessions, was not as bad as what the Jews themselves are doing to others.

Prediction: in a few years one will hear Europeans beginning to say things like: "maybe the millions of Jews who were killed in Europe during WWII were not so innocent after all, just look at what their compatriots in Israel are doing".

Why Antisemites are Holocaust Deniers

Ahmadinejad, David Irving and Mel Gibson’s Father;
WWIII, Mahathir Mohammed, and BinLaden

Why do these antisemites deny the Holocaust?

http://pages.nyu.edu/~air1

They see the incredible success of Jews everywhere and conclude that there’s a secret organization of Jews which controls the world. Clearly the controllers of the world could not have allowed such a mass killing of their people, and so the Holocaust must be a myth. As controllers of the media and foreign governments, the Jews can raise a hue and cry against anyone who utters the truth that the Holocaust is a myth. They even control the governments of Germany and Austria, to the extent that these governments are willing to implicate their own countries and countrymen in a crime of such magnitude, and to prosecute Holocaust deniers like David irving. This only indicates to Ahmadinejad and others like him how frighteningly vast, deep and powerful the Jewish conspiracy is.
The more the world protests, the greater the conspiracy must be, and so the greater one needs to struggle against it – and thus rather than silencing a Holocaust denier, universal criticism strengthens their belief in conspiracy. Imagine their reaction when in Germany, in a private conversation with a German President or other prominent government official, they see that official clim that they actually did perpetrate the holocaust, and are ashamed of it. Imagine how strong and insidious the conspiracy of the Jews must be for them to have such a hold over what German leaders say in private conversations in their home country!
Furthermore, Israel couldn’t have arisen so quickly, and achieved such great military strength such a short time after a third of the Jewish people were murdered, and so it follows from Israel’s success that the Holocaust is a myth. How could Israel be so successful compared to all the Moslem and Arab countires, without all the oil wealth? It can only be that there’s a conspiracy to keep the Moslem and Arab countries from developing. What an incredibly powerful hold those Zionists must have on the world to achieve this.
The conspiracy theory ascribes to the Jews more than ‘just’ the domination of the world, the supression of the Arabs and Moslems and the creation of the Holocaust myth – there is also the quesiton of who the Jews are: either the Devil’s spawn according to some, people who install puppet Popes in Rome according to Gibson Sr, or aliens as some web sites and books claim, or as many Moslems see them, European imposters pretending to be descendants of an ancient middle-Eastern nation.
For Ahmadinejad and many other Moslems, the conspiracy is ancient: for thousands of years Jews distorted the holy word of God by claiming that it was Isaac whom Abraham brought to sacrifice when really of course it was Ihmael; the Jews have along history of creating self-serving myths which victimize the Arabs, and Zionism is only the latest. What a conspiracy, to convince the world that the Jewish Bible was the Word of God!
Jews never had a State in the Middle East, nor did Solomon have a Temple in Jerusalem: the State of Israel is simply a European colonialist imperialist settlement. And why would the Europeans and the Jews who control them want to create this settlement? It can only be with the goal of the destruction of Islam. Zionists, Jews, Crusaders, working to destroy Islam and displace it from Jerusalem. And so Bin Laden is a hero for taking on the West: the Crusaders, Jews and other Infidels.
There can be no solution to the Israel/Palestinian conflict, nor the the Western/Fundamentalist World-Jihadi conflict, as long as the Arab and Moslem street are fed these conspiracy theories as basic truths. Syrian President Bashar Assad said, in the company of the Pope, that Jews/Israelis were trying "to kill the principles of all religions with the same mentality in which they betrayed Jesus Christ and the same way they tried to betray and kill the Prophet Mohammed." When Arabs and Moslems see this on TV, what can they think? As long as a country as important and Western-supported as Egypt can screen programs based on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the source-book for the Anti-semitic conspiracy theory of Jewish world-domination, or as long as one of the wealthiest nations, Saudi Arabia, can print and distribute this book all over the world, can build mosques around the world and supply Imams who teach thes ethings, as long as the head of the Organization of leaders of Muslim Countries a few years ago, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammed can declare to all assembeled at the annual conference, that Jews dominate the world. Palestinians are fed these lies. Moslems and Arabs all over the world are fed these lies, and others such as that the Jews perpetrated the World Trade Center attack and blamed Musilms, that Israel perpetrated a massacre of thousands of Palestinians in Jenin and elsewhere, and instigated what they see as Bush’s War on Islam, and they can only hate the West and Jews and Israel as a result: there can be no end to this clash of civilizations, this WWIII, until there is a radical change in the information flow in their media, and the version of history taught in their schools and mosques.
